the last goodbye
Before I start posting any "new" kitchen stuff, thought I would share these lovely nuggets before we say goodbye.
The original lino - black with goldish swoops. I seriously considered replacing with something similar.
Evidence that the trim was painted brownish-pink at some point.
And was once accompanied by a lovely shade of green. :)
Yet another "safe" wiring upgrade.
Original wallpaper. I found this behind the trim also, so it seems pretty sure this was the original, builder installed stuff.
Some old carpet. Can you imagine this with the wallpaper above?!!??!
Ugh. So glad it's gone.

I dunno, I find the original wallpaper kind of charming.

Aaaah, it's so weird to look back at before pictures! Just wait 'til you get all the old stuff covered up. In a couple of months, you'll look back at these photos and be like, "What is this?? Where is this?? Was it actually LIKE THIS?"
Renovating is so satisfying, and keeping the old "goodbye" photos are so integral. We have to keep motivating ourselves!
Best,
Laura-Jane

Wow! That looks like you have quite a bit work ahead of you!
I don't know if you've considered getting any outside help, but when we were restoring our house we ended up using Fortune Restoration for our residential carpentry
Good Luck and try not to hurt yourself anymore haha
