no, they're not finished yet
No, the stairs aren't finished yet. Get off my back. I've been busy. With this:
New group workspace. Some people call it an office. I have no idea why I'm taking such an interest in painting, furnishing the place since I will still do most of my work at home. But look how much _better_ the door on the right looks. It's the sickness in me that needs to care.
And this:
Have I mentioned lately how much I love my car, aka tomCat or the truCk.
Moved garden and built rectangular raised beds. I liked the idea of the organically-shaped thing I had going before, but I need the order imposed by this geometry. These are pivotal to the new garden plan that will be implemented someday in my lifetime.
I was hoping to apply the "smother with cardboard and leaves" technique to kill weeds in the future beds. It doesn't look like it will work since all the weeds here are runners. If I smother them in one spot, they go get sun somewhere else and continue to grow anyway.
The herbs don't have enough space and didn't turn out quite right. This will do for now. I will intersperse them with "regular" plants when the time comes.
The beds aren't as "raised" as they should be since this is a slope. The top is nearly buried while the bottom sits slightly above regular grade. And I should've made underground trenches for irrigation. Grrrr... (shoulda, woulda, coulda, it's too late)
Oh, and then there's this:
Nice, huh?
But really, I've been progressing on the stairs as much as I can during the week. Which isn't much. And then there was the whole stain debacle I caused just two nights ago. I don't want to think about it, let alone type it out.
But I will share these coolio things that I was happy to discover several months ago. They're stain samples! All stain maker people should get with the program on this one.
Oh, AND I finally coughed up the dough for Toast, so I've been burning lots of TiVo-ish things. Yay, technology!
